Aluprof MB-SR 50N

Window profile:

nformational badge from Team Plast stating "5 years warranty" in blue and black text, signifying an extended protection period for window and door systems.

The MB-SR50N system is designed for constructing lightweight curtain walls, a popular solution in contemporary architecture. Glass curtain partitions are incredibly common, particularly in public and office buildings, as they significantly enhance the aesthetic qualities of the façade while also determining its insulation performance. Within the MB-SR50N system, not only the walls are installed, but also roofs, skylights, and other glazed structures.

Lightness of style

The solutions offered within the MB-SR50N system are perfectly suited to creating glass facades that give buildings a sense of lightness and transparency. This effect is supported by the shape of the mullions and transoms, which allow aesthetically pleasing facades to be built with narrow visible division lines, while at the same time ensuring the durability and strength of the structure. By replacing rounded profiles with so-called sharp-edge profiles, it is possible to align the surfaces of the mullions and transoms on the interior side of the façade, achieving the appearance of a uniform grid. Using the same system solutions, external partitions can be aesthetically integrated with other building elements, such as internal walls and suspended ceiling.

Strength of the Structure

Despite the apparent lightness of a glass curtain wall, the profiles within such a construction must carry subliminal loads. For this reason, their design must be suited to handling the weights of the infills, which in the MB-D50N system can reach up to 450kg. this requirement is met through a wide range of mullion profiles (from 65mm to 325 mm) and transform profiles (from 5mm to 189.5mm), as well as modern accessory and connector solutions. This system is also adapted for the use of large-format glazing and triple-glazed insulating glass units. MB-SR50N is a highly flexible system, allowing glass to be fixed in various configurations and dimensions. A characteristic feature of the system is its façade with visibly narrow division lines.

For Energy-Efficient Construction

The system is also available in a version with enhanced thermal insulation: MB-SR50N HI+, which incorporates a modified PE insulator. It provides excellent thermal protection, achieving heat transfer coefficient as low as 0.7 W/m²K. this value allows the system to be successfully applied in energy-efficient building projects. However, even in its standard configuration, MB-SR50N HI windows achieve satisfactory thermal insulation parameters (from 1.0 W/m²K). the use of a continuous thermal break made from insulating material, combined with profiled glazing gaskets, ensures and appropriate thermal insulation class while minimalizing the risk of condensation forming on aluminium components. The MB-SR50N HI+ system holds a certificate from PHI Darmstadt Institute in the highest A+ class, meaning that windows manufactured on the basis of this system can be used in passive buildings.

Glass Aesthetics

The MB-SE50N system offers not only extensive structural possibilities but also a wide range of aesthetic options. Angular connections allow the aluminium façade to be shaped freely, while a variety of cover profiles with different geometries enable the creation of diverse visual effects.

The MB-SE50N system is also available in additional aesthetic variants:

  • PL version – with emphasised horizontal and vertical divisions,
  • EFEKT version – a semi-structural façade which, thanks to a special glazing installation method, creates the appearance of a smooth, uniform glass surface from the outside, defined only by a grid of horizontal and vertical lines.

Using the MB-SR50N system solutions, various types of windows can be seamlessly integrated into the façade, including models specifically designed for façade applications, such as tilt-and-slide units and roof windows. Integrated façade windows provide a striking and contemporary design option.
